Our Meetings Where We AreHere at Bourne Street Elim you’ll find a lively, loving, growing church. Based in the centre of Hull, we are part of the worldwide Elim Pentecostal movement. This mainstream Christian denomination takes its name from a place mentioned in the Bible that provided a place of refreshing to God's people. We believe that if you visit us you too can be blessed, encouraged and refreshed. As a group of committed Christians we meet together regularly to worship and praise the Living God, having experienced the life changing power of Jesus in our lives. Like many of the churches in Hull, we are believing God for great things in the coming months and if you would like to be part of these then please come along.
We’re located near the main Hull College building (Queens Gardens), just across Freetown Way. Turn right at the George Street traffic lights, take an immediate left onto Carroll Place, follow the road round to the left (Little Mason Street) and then turn right onto Bourne Street. I was involved in using and selling drugs from the age of 13 and by my late teens was addicted to various types. I was from a broken family and my life was a mess. One year, my girlfriend’s family invited us to their church’s Christmas service. What I experienced there that day changed everything and I knew I’d met with the Living God. At the New Year my girlfriend and I gave our lives to Jesus and nothing has been the same since. God released us from our addictions and has given us new starts in life.
As a healthy, successful young man, I seemingly had it all, but inside I knew there was something missing. One day a friend took me to a church and I heard all about Jesus. Shortly after that, knowing Him to be true, I asked Jesus into my life and I’ve known real peace and purpose ever since.
